Fortnite is coming to Xbox Series X & Playstation 5 PS5

Fortnite isn’t a title we need to explain or tell you what it’s about. The Battle Royale title turned the genre into a mainstream sensation and put gaming right into celebrities lap and to a point that’ll possibly never be matched.

Its popularity has dipped, then risen as the new releases come out with the season releases but its core base of fans have never left and seemingly won’t. So the news that Fortnite will be coming to Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 is welcome news.

The extra power of the console will allow smoother play and better graphics for you to get a ‘Victory Royale’.

The best news is that Fortnite’s creator, Epic Games, is planning on upgrading the games engine to their own Unreal Engine 5. It’s a the same engine that the game has been running on but the newest release.

First Look at Game Play on PS5

The move to Unreal Engine 5 won’t happen until the middle of 2021 so there’s no sudden switch and we’ve got some time for them to really max out the engine. We would love to see a higher FPS rate - 120 fps is now possible on the new generation consoles. The loading times also reduced so we can get into games faster and out of the Battle Bus!

While we’ve not yet seen Fortnite on it, it promises to be an upgrade if the graphics of the engine are anything to go by!

Let us know, are you still playing Fortnite and excited to play on Xbox Series X or PS5?
