Fortnite is one of the biggest games of the year. Developed by Epic Games, the game has taken the gaming world by storm appealing to players from a number of genres. It’s taken players from PUBG, H1Z1, Call of Duty and every other game you can think off, all chasing that #1 prize and the umbrella to drop into battle with next game.
The game itself is based around the emerging (has it now emerged?!) Battle Royale genre whereby 100 players are dropped onto an island with the last player or squad standing claiming victory. Epic Games have tried to develop a title whereby you can’t hide on the edges of the map and simply wait someone else to kill everyone and sweep up at the end. ‘The Storm’ which is as ominous as it sounds will push players gradually closer together meaning that you can’t build a stronghold and stay there all game - stay in the storm too long and you’ll be out of the game.
While Epic has not yet released an esports or private mode we here at EGL are ahead of the curve and know everyone is desperate for some Fortnite esports action. A new mode has been devised named ‘Kill Frenzy’ whereby opposing players or squads party up in the same team and then have the length of the game to rack up the most kills. At all times opponents then know how many kills their opponents have and therefore if they need to go into a frenzy for more or take their time.
This is no doubt going to be one of the biggest and most exciting tournaments we’ve hosted with €100 per week on offer and our very own Chris Tunn squadding up and streaming it via our Twitch Channel.
If you think you and your duo has what it takes then head over to HERE to register, we’ll be offering tournaments for PS4 and PC - any Xbox fans let us know and we may add that also.
